We make Nomo, so weigh that in. Here's what each option actually tracks, who it's for, and where each one falls short.

Facts about other apps come from their own websites or the ATO, checked on 24 September 2026. We don't show prices, because they change: follow each app's link for current pricing. "Not listed" means we couldn't find the feature on that app's site, not that it doesn't exist. Spot something out of date? Email hello@heynomo.com.au and we'll fix it.
For employees and sole traders, we looked at what each app keeps track of during the year (trips, receipts, work from home hours), what else it covers, and what it gives you at tax time.
Some apps keep your records as the year goes (Nomo, myDeductions). Some look after your wider finances or estimate your refund (TaxTank, TaxFox). Doing the return itself is a separate step, in myTax or with a registered tax agent. Plenty of people use one app for records and something else for the return.
